It sounds like we need to wait a little longer for Hitman 3 VR
A little bit of unfortunate news today. The much anticipated Quest 3 exclusive release of Hitman 3 VR: Reloaded appears to have been delayed to the autumn after initially being due for release in the summer.
The description on the store page has been changed to now say “Pre-order now for a limited-time discount. Coming Autumn 2024.”
The delay does make sense, in defense of XR games. Hitman 3 was an insanely complex game with so many moving parts that needed to be managed. Porting it to the Quest 3 in the first place is a minor miracle so some delays were to be expected.
They already had to make major changes to the visuals from the original in order to get it to run. Removing the realistic style and transitioning to a cel-shaded look.
The good news is that the game is shaping up to be one of the best VR games of the year. If you have ever played any of the Hitman games you would understand why. So I don’t mind that XR games are taking their time with this one and will only release it once it is ready.
