There is a lot of amazing games coming to PSVR before the end of the year
There may not be many first party PSVR 2 games coming out soon, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty to look forward to before the end of the year. In fact the list is looking a little stacked and our wallets might get a little lighter.
So what are the best PSVR 2 games still due to come out in 2024.

Behemoth
There are few games coming out that are as anticipated as Behemoth. The developer Skydance Interactive earned their reputation with the excellent Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners a few years back, and that game is still one of the best VR games ever made. Now with their new title, they are trying to be even more ambitious.
Behemoth involves you hunting skyscraper sized monsters, in the same vein as Shadow of the Colossus, but differs from that title in that it also involves brutal melee combat against human characters as well.
Every trailer for Behemoth has only built on the already enormous hype for this game. Every hands-on report claims that Skydance Interactive has made something special here. If there is a game that is going to push the PSVR 2 to its limits, Behemoth will be the one.
Behemoth releases for the PSVR 2 on November 14th.

Ghosts of Tabor
Players who use PCVR or a Quest headset all agree that Ghosts of Tabor is one of the best games available. Unfortunately PSVR 2 players have had to miss out on the party, but that is changing soon as the game is finally being ported to the Playstation system.
Make no mistake, this extraction shooter is not for the faint hearted, it is extremely punishing, but also extremely rewarding once you find your footing. The gameplay involves you going on runs on an island to collect gear and weapons, however on top of AI there are also other humans in the mix. They may be willing to team up but they may be hostile instead, and this creates some incredible moments.
The gunplay is decent, and the gameplay loop is solid. Ghosts of Tabor is scheduled to release for the PSVR 2 before the end of the year.

Aces of Thunder
There is a scarcity of decent combat flight sims on the PSVR 2, but Aces of Thunder is an upcoming game that promises to fill that gap. The Devs, Gaijin Entertainment, have experience making combat flight sims in VR, they are the guys who made War Thunder.
In Aces of Thunder you will play as combat pilots in the chaos of WW2, across 3 different theaters and 15 different maps.
The planes promise to be historically accurate recreations of the aircraft at the time, and it is promised that it will have a good variety of them. I’m just happy they have the Spitfire, that’s the coolest plane ever made.
The gameplay should be good as well, Gaijin Entertainment made an excellent VR flight combat sim with War Thunder. And judging by the trailer, the dogfights look chaotic, intense and awesome.
Aces of Thunder is scheduled to release before the end of the year.

Metro Awakening
The Metro series is coming to PSVR 2, and I can’t wait to see how the series translates to VR. Metro is a series perfect for VR, its setting in the tunnels below moscow years after a nuclear war should translate brilliantly.
For the first time in VR, you can experience Metro’s tense, heart-pounding gameplay as you struggle with dwindling ammo, failing mask filters, and an unreliable torch you are blind without. You will need to arm yourself with an arsenal of hand-made weapons, don your gas mask, and descend into the Metro’s depths where desperate bandits, mutants, and unspeakable horrors await.
The graphics look incredible in Metro Awakening too, in the trailer it looks highly atmospheric, with the dark atmosphere helping the game achieve some really amazing visuals.
Metro Awakening is scheduled to release before the end of the year.

Arken Age
Arken Age looks like a blend of Blade and Sorcery and Doom, and yes that blend does sound fantastic. The story does sound like it is not the most interesting one, however this is not a game you will want to play just because of the story, it’s because of the combat.
The combat frankly looks amazing, if you have played a game like Blade and Sorcery you get why. The game uses a full physics combat system, meaning your weapons react realistically and you can grab your enemies which works really well.
You also get an arsenal of guns too which you can mix in with the swordplay. The dev’s appear to have embraced letting players choose how they want to play with a huge amount of freedom in the combat.
Graphically it looks fantastic, the world is vibrant and colorful, the weapon and enemy variety looks great and the combat looks like it hits hard.
Arken Age is scheduled to release before the end of the year.

Into the Radius
PSVR 2 players have been waiting a long time for Into the Radius to come, as other platforms have been enjoying it for a long time. Well the wait is not going to be much longer, with it due to finally release in just a few weeks.
The setting is in an old soviet mining town, after the aftermath of a strange supernatural disaster. The setting evokes a strong Chernobyl vibe and it works brilliantly. You work to investigate the mysterious anomalies left after the disaster.
Into the Radius is probably the most immersive VR shooter ever made. The game features an insane amount of attention to detail. You go on raids around the area to complete tasks and collect supplies, these raids are incredibly tense and well done.
The details it goes to though when it comes to survival is crazy. You even need to manually clean your guns back at base to make sure they stay reliable.
Into the Radius releases on PSVR 2 on September 19th

Alien Rogue Incursion
One of the year’s major releases, Alien Rogue Incursion, is definitely one to watch.
Blending horror and action, Alien Rogue Incursion puts you in the shoes of Zula Hendricks on a mission to the uncharted planet Purdan. Your goal is to battle through a research facility overrun by one of the galaxy’s deadliest creatures.
Based on the trailers, the combat appears intense, the graphics are impressive, and the game stays true to the film series. I’m particularly glad they kept the weapon sounds from the movies; not using the iconic assault rifle sound would have been a huge mistake.
Alien Rogue Incursion arrives for PSVR 2 on December 19th.

Frenzies
Honestly, this isn’t my usual type of game, but Frenzies, the latest PVP shooter from nDreams, has caught my eye.
It’s got style and seems like a lot of fun. Given that this is the same team behind Synapse for PSVR 2, their track record speaks for itself.
In Frenzies, the developers aim to keep players constantly on edge with modes that change every match. So far, they’ve confirmed Team Deathmatch, Domination, and the intriguing Red Light Green Light.
Frenzies is scheduled to release before the end of the year.

Wanderer
Wanderer: The Fragments of Fate is a remake of the acclaimed Wanderer, delivering an enhanced VR time-travel adventure. Explore thrilling historical settings, solve intricate puzzles, and traverse rich new worlds.
The PS VR2 version promises significant improvements over the original with stunning visuals, full-body avatars, and haptics support. Swim, jump, and climb through diverse environments with next-gen physics. Samuel, your trusty companion, boasts a new UI and the Echo Diviner for locating lost items.
With new levels, a revamped combat system, and an art overhaul, this remake offers an unforgettable time-travel experience.

Whitewater VR
The PSVR 2 launch game Kayak VR: Mirage, was one of the most chilled VR experiences ever made. With great physics and beautiful environments. But what if you wanted that plus high intensity white rafting?
Well Whitewater VR is going to do that, letting you tackle some of the world’s wildest rapids in Whitewater VR, an adrenaline-pumping VR experience that combines stunning graphics, realistic physics, and heart-racing action.
- Experience: Navigate treacherous whitewater and dodge obstacles in breathtaking VR.

So as you can see there is plenty to look forward to for the rest of 2024. I don’t think I have seen a lineup that matches this one in years past.
